## What credits pay for

One credit is one cent. Every plan includes a monthly allowance; unused credits roll over one month. Running out never stops your books: payments still book and receipts are still signed. Only Rifo and new witness signatures pause until credits return.

## Questions

**Are these prices final?**

No. They are planned prices, published so you can see where we're headed, and they may change before launch. Design partners pay nothing during the pilot.

**What's a ledger event?**

One thing that happened to your money: a payment, a refund, a credit used, a booking. A typical family or member makes about 7 a month, so Free's 1,000 events covers about 140 families. Most organizations upgrade for features, not limits.

**What happens if I go over my limit?**

Nothing stops and nothing is billed. Event limits are soft on Free, Starter, Pro and Witnessed: your books keep running, and if you stay over for a while we'll suggest a plan that fits. There is no metered overage. Only Platform pays per event, about $1 per 10,000.

**Can I get a refund?**

Yes. A full refund within 30 days of your first paid charge.

**How do I cancel?**

Two clicks in settings. No retention call, no email chain.

**Can I change plans?**

Any time. Upgrades are prorated to the day; downgrades credit your next invoice.

**Is onboarding extra?**

No. Onboarding is included on every paid plan, with no setup fee.

**What happens to my data if I cancel?**

Export everything in open formats, before and after cancelling. Export is never behind a paywall.

**Who qualifies for non-profit & co-op pricing?**

US 501(c) organizations (we check your IRS determination letter or EIN), and cooperatives (we check your articles or bylaws). The plan for non-profits with gross receipts of $50,000 or less is Witnessed free on the Free plan, with up to about 200 witnessed receipts a month, once the witness ships.

**Do the annual and non-profit discounts stack?**

Yes. Annual billing is ten months' price for twelve months, applied to whichever price you qualify for.

**What will "Witnessed" mean? Is it an audit?**

It isn't an audit. Once it ships, Trifold will countersign each receipt and monthly seal and log it publicly, which proves Trifold saw that exact record at that time and that nobody changed it afterwards. It doesn't prove the money moved or that the books are complete. That makes your auditor's job faster, not unnecessary.

**I'm an accountant. What do I pay?**

Nothing for your own seats: a firm's seats are free on every client's books. Planned: clients a firm brings get 20% off their first year. Trifold pays no referral fees to tax preparers.

**Can I run it myself?**

The engine's source and its CLI are public on GitHub, including receipts, seals, reconcile and simulate. The license is the Functional Source License: free to use and change for your own books, but not to sell as a competing service. Every release becomes Apache-2.0 two years after it ships. The verifier and receipt format are Apache-2.0.

**Does Trifold file my taxes?**

No. Trifold keeps books that show their work and prepares the records your CPA or enrolled agent needs. Partner bookkeepers can close the month for you.
